More Than 52 Years of Service to the Community
What do you need to know about WLTL? Here are some of the important details:
January 5, 1968
That's our birthday. Feel free to send us a card. All of the details are on our contact page.
Student-Run Radio
In short, this is what we do. Students run this place, not the adults. Read all about them on our management page.
Where Are You?
We operate out of Lyons Township High School's campuses in La Grange and Western Springs, Illinois and provide music, sports, news and more for the nearly 150,000 people WLTL reaches at 88.1 FM and for the world when you listen online.
Variety Rock
It's what we play on 88.1 FM all day long alongside sports, news, and specialty programming. Our DJs are students, our sports announcers are students, our producers are students, and even our 18 managers are students. Each semester, we provide over 100 students the unique, hands-on opportunity to learn about and be part of the media industry. See our full schedule here.
Commercial-Free
This means that you’ll never hear an ad on our station! WLTL is not-for-profit and holds only one fundraiser each year that directly benefits the students.
How Do I Listen?
Glad you asked! You can find us at 88.1FM in the La Grange area (see our coverage map here), or streaming on the WLTL app, the RadioFX app, or WLTL.net. You can also ask your smart speaker to Play WLTL Radio. Or, check us out on social media @wltl881 !
Podcasts
We do those too! Be sure to find all of our off-air student productions wherever you get your podcasts. Or you can listen right here on our podcast page.
Alumni
Students from WLTL have gone on to work for such media giants at ESPN, NBC, CNN and more. Visit our alumni page to read all about their successes.
Still curious?
Check out the rest of WLTL.net to learn about all that we have to offer! And when you surf around listening to other stations, remember, Everything Else is Just Radio!
