I was fortunate enough to attend the IBS radio conference in NYC this month. After seeing some very dynamic speakers, hearing about better ways to run a station, and talking with other radio managers, I really did discover much more about being a part of this great radio team.
And, since New York is the city that never sleeps, we were able to leave our hotel and see some really amazing sights. I have compiled my top 3 (non-conference) memories:
- Empire State Building at Midnight
- Getting verbally attacked for not being pre-checked
- The basement of the MoMA
Overall, this has been one of my favorite trips I’ve ever taken. I would highly recommend going to NYC with a group of teenage radio managers at some point in your life. Get on the roofs of buildings, get pre-checked, and walk into the basement of every museum.
