Rock-A-Thon 2019 has come to an end, and with that comes many emotions. Throughout the weekend tears of joy were brought to my eyes multiple times. Seeing this years Rock-A-Thon being so successful was like a dream come true.

With your help and the support of many local businesses, we fundraised more than $27,000 during Rock-A-Thon itself and the months leading up to it. I’m so proud of how the entire station came together and worked to reach this number, and I'm unbelievably thankful for our community supporting us.

I’m so sad it’s over, but so happy it happened. WLTL means so much to over a hundred student who are involved in radio, and so much to the community as a whole. It’s so many students creative outlets- it's a way for freshman to meet people who become their best friends, it’s a place to talk sports, politics, and music, but above anything else it's a place where no idea is too large. We have opportunities for everyone and anyone to create something they would never have the chance to without WLTL.

Whether its a podcast, a comedy skit, or a music show there's always someone working to make our station the best it can be. It's really no wonder students will stay involved in radio for all four years of high school, and many also carry WLTL into their professional careers. At the station we really are a family. We are incredibly lucky to even have a radio station at LT, especially one so supported by the entire community.

If you told any of the freshman involved in radio that eventually it would feel like a second home they’d laugh. But that's because the have no idea how important it will eventually be to them. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for WLTL, and with the support of Rock-A-Thon and the entire community i'm sure it’ll go on to do amazing things.

I think you have a terrific radio station and did a great job with Rock-A-Thon 2019. However, I still have yet to receive my WLTL t-shirt I have paid for. Is there anyone there that can help me?
It would be nice to hear from you.
Thanks,
Alan Linhart
