Rock-A-Thon started as 24-hour long fundraiser broadcasting solely on the radio in 1982. After five years of successful fundraising, WLTL expanded Rock-A-Thon to 88.1 hours in 1987. The next big addition to Rock-A-Thon came in 2005 when LTTV, Lyons Township High School’s cable outlet, began broadcasting Rock-A-Thon on television as well. Over the course of its history, Rock-A-Thon has raised more than $200,000 from the community, and in the past has used the funds for the following projects:
Help us make Rock-A-Thon 2016 even better this year! The time to completely replace our broadcast antenna has come. With funds raised through this year’s Rock-A-Thon, WLTL will begin the process of replacing our 20-plus-year-old antenna with a new state of the art system.
We also hope to continue improving our South Campus facilities and increase student opportunities at both campuses by starting a brand new News/Talk/Sports streaming only station to be housed on www.wltl.net.
