Christmas is right around the corner, and before you know it, everything will be covered in
Santa Claus and colorful lights. If you’re looking for ways to get into the festive spirit, keep
reading, because Chicago has tons of fun ways to spend the holidays.
McCormick Tribune Ice Skating Rink

A fun way to get outdoors is to visit the McCormick Tribune ice skating rink, located in
Millennium Park. It runs from November to early February, so there’s lots of time to make a
trip. Although you have to reserve a skate time, it is free to skate! If you don’t have skates,
there are rentals!
Museum of Science and Industry Exhibit

If you aren’t looking to brave Chicago’s cold weather, check out the “Christmas Around the
World and Holidays of Light” exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry. Featuring, trees
from several cultures around the world. Discover the diverse Christmas traditions celebrated
by various cultures worldwide. It will run from November to early January.
Lights at Lincoln Park

ZooLights at the Lincoln Park Zoo will leave you in awe with over 3 million lights throughout
the festival. Fun snacks like hot chocolate and s’mores will be provided as well! You won’t want to miss listening to the carolers or watching sculptures carve professional ice sculptures. Overall, the ZooLights are a great way to view the Chicago skyline and see beautiful Christmas lights all at once! Stop by from November through January.
Christkindl Market

I’m sure you’ve heard about this Chicago tradition already, but it wouldn’t be Christmas in
Chicago without it. This German style market is a delicious way to indulge in both the culture
and festivities all at once. Try traditional German foods like potato pancakes, schitznel, and
giant pretzels. Make sure to check out the Daley Plaza and Wrigleyville markets. They will be
running from November through December.
Chicago is truly one of the best cities to spend Christmas. These are just a few of the many
