With the World Cup incoming this summer, there are many, many problems with the tournament that have been spoken about at nauseum. From ticket prices to the prospect of changing venues, many are questioning FIFA's legitimacy as an organization, given the litany of problems that threaten to bankrupt both fans and host cities. However, one facet of every World Cup that delivers every year is the kit designs, and the United States has two all-time designs for this year's tournament.
HOME KIT

Starting with the home jersey, the U.S. will be throwing back to a much-loved jersey. The "Waldo" jerseys return, as the wavy stripes of the American Flag take center stage for the jersey. The design is accented with a navy neckline and navy sleeves, completing a look many will love to see on the pitch. While the blank back is a little disappointing, it is nonetheless necessary to simplify the design, and it does not ruin its base. The home kit also features a unique touch, where the player jerseys will be different from the numberless designs. On the front of the jersey, player designs will feature a break in the flag to unveil the numbers in a really nice touch. Fans of U.S. soccer will love this jersey when it takes the field this summer.

AWAY KIT

Now with the away jersey, the design is a lot more subdued. Despite the leaks marking this one in black, this jersey will instead be in navy, with a faint star design lining the entire jersey. The crest will be all white, with red faint striping down the sides and shoulders. Overall, Nike has often been criticized for its designs, and more so, their lack thereof. This jersey is the most symptomatic of this issue; the building blocks were there for a great jersey, however, Nike has once again failed to deliver with a stale palette and bland design despite their initial brilliance with the home jersey. This summer, while fans will love the home jersey, they'll loathe the away jersey.
