Rock-A-Thon

Everyone loves the 90’s. Cargo pants, overalls, and flannels. Yo-yo’s, novelty landlines, and music on MTV. Although MTV may not be as popular as it was in the 90’s, radio is still a booming industry! Here at WLTL, it’s Rock-A-Thon week, our yearly marathon, being on air for 88 hours straight, and being live streamed by LTTV. Donations for Rock-A-Thon are open on the WLTL website.

With this being such a big event, we have different activities throughout the week. A countdown on our Instagram, different blog posts, specialty shows, and so much more! We start on air at 8 am on Friday, February 9, and end everything Sunday, February 11 at 3 pm. With more than 20 sponsors, 16 on air shifts, more than 75 student managers and staff, and the help of LTTV, we go live on air for 55 hours straight.

On-air shifts vary from shift to shift, with activities such as trivia with punishments (hot sauce shots, whip cream to face, face painting, etc.), to showing off individual talents, to shaving someone’s head, it’s amazing! We collect donations the whole time, sometimes with incentives set by whoever is on air. We here at WLTL can’t wait for our staff to be in the station for the show.

If you’d like to consider donating, the links for just donations and our merch is below! We have special merch for Rock-A-Thon, plus all of our WLTL merch. Tune in through the WLTL home page at 8 am tomorrow. We can’t wait to see you there!
